Regulations

General

To join FABv, you must have a legal copy of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020/X/2004 or X-Plane 11/12. Please note that we do not tolerate any form of inappropriate or offensive language in our community, directed at our virtual airline members or not. A valid email address is also required. Additionally, all members must adhere to IVAO regulations.

AFAv Admission

Virtual Air Force Academy classes occur periodically when registrations open, depending on DEPENSv's availability. Be aware that we may reject applications that do not meet the minimum requirements listed below, and for reasons that DEPENSv and COMGEPv deem necessary.

The minimum requirements for admission are IVAO FS3 rating with at least 100 hours of flight on the network and a minimum age of 16 years (forged documents will result in permanent banning). If your application is not accepted, you will receive an email notification. If DEPENSv notes inactivity of the air cadet, they will be moved to reserve, and their aviator officer training course will be canceled, with the possibility of joining another class.

Flight Reporting

We use VMSAcars to report our flights. All online flights must be performed on the IVAO network. We accept offline flights except for instructional flights at AFAv, CEO, virtual operations (unless authorized by the immediate commander), but we recommend using the virtual network to increase proficiency.

Inactivity

If COMGEPv notes inactivity of the aviator officer, they will be moved to reserve, and reactivation can be done through a request to the FABv commander.

Career

FABv follows the career doctrine of the real FAB aviator officer, adapted to the virtual environment. The cadet joins AFAv, and upon completion, they can choose their desired area (fighter, transport, or rotary-wing) and undergo CEO as an aspirant. Upon CEO completion, the officer can participate in official FABv missions. FABv DOES NOT SIMULATE THE FUMAƇA SQUADRON.

Ranks

Our ranks follow the doctrine of the Brazilian armed forces, especially the Brazilian Air Force. An officer receives a new rank when COMGEPv conducts an evaluation. This can occur regularly throughout the year.

Aircraft Ratings System

FABv uses an internal system of ratings for operating aircraft. Upon CEO completion, the officer can fly any aircraft within that specialization (fighter, transport, rotary-wing), provided they complete operational adaptation (AOp) for the specific aircraft. After completing AOp for an aircraft, the officer must accumulate a minimum of 10 flight hours to be eligible for AOp in another aircraft.
